  • The Knotts Family Agency was established in 1992 by Gwen and James Knotts as a safety net strategy for homeless teens and their babies. With a track record of almost 20 years, the organization evolved from a focus on foster care to now supporting safe, stable families and communities. Over 2,500 vulnerable individuals and families are served each year and receive critical support for resilience, care coordination, parenting, youth mentoring and leadership development, financial literacy, environmental literacy, job training, and early intervention efforts to improve mental health. Programs are delivered through the Foster Family and Adoption Agency, a Family and Community Resource Center, and a Training and Research Institute, which houses a state-of-the art phone banking and community research capabilities. The Knotts Family Agency has emerged as a leader in providing evidence-based comprehensive support and services to promote the emotional, social, physical, intellectual, cultural well-being and development of children, youth, adults and, families. Community members receive a full array of health and social services and referral to other community based organizations, offering a comprehensive wrap-around service that contributes to improved health and quality of life of participants. To date, over 15,820 families have been served through the Knotts Family Agency.

Comment from Patty: Hello, My name is Patty Morrissette and I am a Crisis Intervention Specialist here at TeleCare, Windsor. This is a Crisis Stabilization Unit located at 1481 North Windsor Drive San Bernardino CA, 92404. Our unit is open 24 hours and we are able to accept adolescents ages 13 years old and up. Our guests are welcome to be accepted as a new member as long as the guest is in any kind of a crisis situation and is in need of supportive assistance in order to become re-stabilized with a crisis plan and resources upon discharge. Our unit is able to accept a guest to stay with us up to 23 hours and 59 min, can take a shower, eat, wash clothes, receive Therapy and Psychiatric services. Our guests can be informed about medication stabilization and or education across different situations in their lives, receive Psycho education regarding Mental Health challenges and or Co-Occurring disorders, alcohol and drug support. They will have the opportunity to speak with a Crisis Intervention Specialist, a Peer Support Specialist, a Peer Recovery Coach; receive care from an onsite nurse to ensure vitals are stable and receive on going supportive assistance through out their stay here with us at Windsor.
